Bertil Schulrabe
Bertil Schulrabe est un batteur et percussionniste polyvalent. Son jeu solide, raffiné et vivant lui a permis de côtoyer des artistes et groupes de renom dont : Nanette Workman, Céline Dion, Zachary Richard, I Musici, Jean-Pierre Zanella, Marie-Denise Pelletier, Lynda Thalie, Said Mesnaoui, Lokua Kanza, Chantal Chamandy (aux Pyramides de Gizeh), Ustad Shahid Parvez (classes de maître à Toronto).
Après sa formation au Cégep Saint-Laurent en 1991, il a poursuivi le perfectionnement de son art en étudiant au privé avec : Clayton Cameron, Paul Brochu, Guy Nadon, Magella Cormier, Rick Gratton, Ian Froman (au Drummer’s Collective à New-York). Grâce a l’obtention d’une bourse du Conseil des Arts et Lettres du Québec il est allé en lnde approfondir ses connaissances et sa pratique du tabla indien auprès du réputé tabliste Partha Sarathi Mukherjee.
La variété des projets auxquels il participe lui permet de rester actif dans plusieurs styles musicaux : Pop, Funk, Jazz, Fusion, Rock, Folklores du monde (Afrique, Afrique du nord, Inde, Cuba, Brésil, Haïti, Europe de l’Est,…).
Bertil possède à son actif un album solo intitulé ‘Dancing Rhythms’, musique composée et jouée à la batterie et aux percussions exclusivement, qui est inspiré par la beauté de plusieurs rythmes du monde entier.
